Strategically re-positioned and created a visual identity for a 35-year-old fencing wall company to a landscape transformation brand which uplifted the services to a premium segment within their business domain

When Malabar fencing group approached us, they had the challenge of positioning the brand to a premium service provider in their domain. Since the brand name is common in the South India market, they wanted to refresh the name while staying rooted in the emotional aspects towards the companies growth in 35 years.

Pixpil renamed Malabar fencing to Evomalabar and developed a tone of voice to re-position the brand from the traditional fencing and compound wall market segment to a broader and premium plot transformation company.

This empowering point of view informs the brand positioning, summed up in a new tagline: “Transforming Landscapes”. The refresh brings simplicity and clarity, with an increased emphasis on print and digital applications.

This idea is captured in the flat new Evomalabar logo, a custom wordmark that enhances the letter “M” in dynamic typography that captures a visual element of building silhouettes, landscape and making a difference. The new logo evokes Evomalabar’s many choices and options and sets the brand mark apart from the M logos typically used by companies with Malabar brand name in South India.

The logo has been optimized to work across various platforms and scales, from the cement mould impression on precast slabs to the large hoarding of a building. At the centre of the new identity, the new Brandmark has been designed to be as flexible and adaptable as possible for its many different applications.
